Academic guest from Vancouver, Canada

Welcome Sarah Smith-Tripp!

Sarah is a visiting PhD student from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She is in her 3rd year of her PhD where her studies focus on forests recovering from wildfires in British Columbia. Her techniques use a combination of Lidar and Landsat satellite to understand the unique patterns of forest structure, for example locations of dense and open forests. Sarah is excited to visit the FORM lab and ETH for summer 2024. During her visit she will improve understanding and capacity for science that supports forest management, particularly management that prioritizes non-timber ecosystem services.
