Visiting PhD Student Yan Cheng
We are welcoming an academic guest for a few weeks.

Yan Cheng is a PhD student from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She is working on mapping tree mortality using very high resolution images and deep learning. She obtained a MSc in Natural Resources Management from ITC, University of Twente, Netherlands, and a BSc in GIS from Wuhan University, China. She is passionate about decoding massive earth observations (e.g. optical images and LiDAR point clouds) using deep learning to understand the dynamics of terrestrial ecosystem in the changing climate. Her other research interests include time series analysis for vegetation phenology mapping and physical climate risks assessment.
