To meet the increasing - and often conflicting - demands for the goods and services forests can provide, a careful and holistic Forest Resources Management is required. Alongside solid knowledge about forest ecology and growth, forest operations, and other associated topics, this requires comprehensive competences in advanced planning methods.
Our group is committed to the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of forest management planning from stand to landscape level scale, spatial forest analyses, as well as modelling to predict the possible development of our forests into the future.
Within the framework of our courses, students acquire the required skills to tackle complex problems and develop pathways towards solutions for challenges faced by science, industry and society. They learn to critically analyse possible solutions and enhance them by taking an analytical approach rooted in the scientific method.
